AirVape XS GO vs AirVape X: Compact Vaporizer Comparison Guide
The AirVape XS GO and the AirVape X are the two most compact options in AirVape's lineup. Both fit in a pocket. Both use ceramic chambers. Both are built for on-the-go use. But they're designed around different priorities, and choosing between them isn't just about size.
This guide compares them directly on the features that matter in daily use so you can make the right call without reading twelve different reviews.

Quick Recommendation
Choose the XS GO if: You want the smallest, lightest device possible with simple one-button operation and five preset temperatures.
Choose the X if: You want precise adjustable temperature control, a slim flat profile, hybrid heating, and the option to use concentrates.
The rest of this guide explains why.
Size and Form Factor: Two Different Kinds of Small
Both devices are pocketable, but they approach compactness differently.
The XS GO is a compact block: 3.8 inches long, 1 inch wide, 1.3 inches tall, and 2 oz. It fits in a front jeans pocket and sits flat. If you want the smallest AirVape device, this is it.
The X is slightly longer and wider but only 0.48 inches thin — the thinnest device in the AirVape lineup. It lies completely flat in a jacket pocket or a bag's card/phone slot. At 3.2 oz it's heavier than the XS GO, but that extra 1.2 oz isn't noticeable in daily carry.
The XS GO wins on the smallest overall footprint. The X wins on thinnest profile. Neither is categorically better — it depends on where you're carrying it.
Heating: Conduction vs. Hybrid
This is the most significant technical difference between the two devices.
The XS GO uses conduction only. The ceramic chamber heats up and the herb is warmed through contact with the chamber walls. AirVape also builds in a chamber beneath that collects hot air to assist the process, but the fundamental method is conduction contact.
The X uses hybrid heating — conduction from the chamber walls combined with heated air drawn through the load as you inhale. Hybrid heating produces more even extraction across the load and cleaner flavor, particularly at lower temperatures, because the herb isn't sitting on a hot surface continuously between draws.
In practical terms: the X produces more consistent, flavor-forward vapor at mid-range temperatures. The XS GO is faster and simpler but gives you less extraction evenness.
Temperature Control: Presets vs. Full Adjustable Range
The XS GO has five preset temperatures: 355°F, 375°F, 390°F, 405°F, and 420°F. You cycle through them with the single button. There's no display — just the LED indicator showing which preset you're on.
This is fast and requires no navigation. Once you've identified your preferred range, operating the XS GO becomes completely automatic.
The X is fully adjustable from 200°F to 428°F with a 1.3-inch display showing current temperature, battery level, and a session timer. You set a precise temperature, the device holds it, and the display gives you real-time feedback.
If you've never used a dry herb vaporizer before, the XS GO's presets may be the better starting point — there's nothing to configure. If you know you have preferences at specific temperatures, or if you like to adjust across a session, the X gives you the control to do that.
Battery Life and Charging
The XS GO has a 1200 mAh battery and AirVape rates it at approximately 20 minutes of use per charge. It charges over Micro-USB in about 45 minutes and supports pass-through charging.
The X has a 1300 mAh battery and charges over Micro-USB in about 1 hour, also with pass-through support.
Neither device has USB-C charging, which is worth noting if fast charging is important to you. The Legacy line — the Legacy CORE and Legacy PRO 2 — includes USB-C charging if that's a requirement.
Both the XS GO and X support pass-through use while charging, meaning you can use them connected to a power source or portable battery pack.
Dry Herb vs. Dual Use
The XS GO is listed as a dry herb device only.
The X supports both dry herb and concentrates. It includes a concentrate pad insert that sits in the ceramic chamber. If concentrates are part of your routine, the X is the device built to handle them. If you only use dry herb, this distinction doesn't affect your decision.
Airpath and Materials
Both devices use an oval ceramic chamber. The X adds a fully isolated EZ AirPath with a dual filter system and a steel and ceramic construction. The XS GO has a ceramic airpath that AirVape describes as partially isolated, in an ABS body.
In use, the X's fully isolated ceramic airpath produces slightly cleaner-tasting vapor at mid-range temperatures. The difference is most noticeable to users with developed flavor preferences; casual users are less likely to notice it.
Accessories and Extras
The XS GO includes a built-in packing and scraper tool integrated into the device body. You don't need to carry a separate tool — it's always there when you need it.
The X includes the X Shell — a smell-resistant carrying case — and uses vibration alerts to notify you when the device reaches temperature rather than an audible tone.
